HOW TO GET A SALON BLOWOUT…AT HOME
You know exactly what we’re talking about. That round brushed, shiny, no-frizz blowout. The very thing that makes you feel SO confident leaving the salon. It’s just the perfect voluminous finish to every single style. That’s why you deserve to get it at home! So here are a few things you can try:
1)Hold off on that brush.
Do you ever feel like it takes so long to do a blow-dry style on yourself? Well, there’s a good reason for that. You’re putting the work in way too early! Hair needs to be about 70% dry before it’s worth styling with the brush. Remember, the hair doesn’t take shape while it’s wet, it holds the style as it starts to dry. So if you’re styling fresh out of the shower, blow-dry your hair for a few minutes before you go in and start styling with the brush. It’ll save you an entire upper body workout worth of brushing 🙂
2) Blow. Dry. Cream.
What even is a blowout without the proper products? A frizz party that’s what. That’s why we always prep clients with products designed specifically for excellent blowout results. Using a blowout prep cream helps to protect hair from heat damage and smooth the strands. This can lock in the moisture from whatever conditioning products you use as well! Many benefits to be had. To use, apply the cream to your palms and while your hair is wet, turn your head upside down and apply by scrunching the ends of the hair up to the scalp. Brush it through for a more even application.
3)Don’t weigh it down!
What’s the number one characteristic of a Salon blowout? The volume. Obviously. And of course, that’s the hardest part to get at home.
